Alpha testing has officially ENDED!
Beta Test signups are now available, with invites expected to be sent this week or this weekend!
Judging by the most popular search keywords found whenever you search LEGO Universe, I’m compiling a list of questions that I imagine you absolutely can’t live without having answers to.
So, here you go!
When will LEGO Universe have a beta/alpha test?
Believe it or not, there’s one going on right now! However, only those who received a special invite from LEGO can get in, inasmuch as a special activation key is required to both download and play LEGO Universe Alpha.
Is there anywhere I can sign up for the alpha test? And is there anywhere I can find an activation key?
Simple answer is – NO. Signups for LEGO Universe Alpha test invites are closed internet-wide, and there is (surprisingly) no site where you can obtain an activation key.
How long will it be until I can sign up for a PUBLIC beta test?
From today, the wait will be EXACTLY 56 days. (April 1, 2010, possibly at 8 PM?) I’ll be adding a countdown widget soon so you can keep track of this timeframe.
When will LEGO Universe be released?
Judging from the date of the Public Beta release – no one really knows, and no one really cares. The beta will be much better anyway – you won’t have to pay a dime for it!
Wait – will LEGO Universe cost?
Of course! The final product will, anyway. Even their website clearly states this!
Are there any videos displaying ACTUAL LEGO Universe gameplay?
Despite LEGO’s Alpha Test Secrecy Documentation, yes, as a matter of fact there is! Click here to see part one! (The other 5 parts should show up in related videos.)
Will LEGO Universe be available for Macs?
Sadly, it’s looking like a no. Well, for the Alpha test, anyway. LegoUniverseMaster stated in a comment on the Kids Inner Circle Blog (link not available) that the LEGO Universe Alpha would NOT be available for Macs. He did mention, however, that they were working on a version for Macs (which could be available by the time Public Beta comes along).
I hope these answers satisfy you!
If you have any more questions, just ask! I’ll do my best to answer them!
