EDIT: I emailed LU on the matter, and here’s what they had to say:
Thank you for your email.
We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble accessing LEGO Universe. The scheduled play sessions for this weekend did not go ahead as the game is still not quite ready for Beta. The plan is that all invites and activation keys will be sent out in the near future.
Please email us again if you have any trouble with the sign up process.
See you in LEGO Universe soon!
LEGO Universe Support Team
Like I said before, we need to be thankful they’re taking so long.
I imagine they added some new features and ran into some bugs with them.
In case you’re wondering, lots of things are going on behind our backs –
Without our knowledge, at this very moment, the LU team is online testing out LEGO Universe.
A good deal of us can guess this, and the rest of us are probably blowing fuses at the thought.
Well, we really need to consider WHY they’re taking so long.
Think about it.
There’s several reasons:
- They’re adding new features that were not available before (a few of you know that’s true)
- They’re fixing some major bugs
- Heck, for all we know, the main reason they’ve been at it this long is to develop a Mac version! (THAT’S NOT LIKELY, SO DON’T GET YOUR HOPES UP ON THAT ONE)
The point is, this waiting is almost over.
I honestly expected (and had quite a bit of evidence to back me up on this) that they would release the keys THIS WEEKEND. (Hey, I can spoil the surprise – there’s not much to spoil now that the weekend’s ALMOST over.)
So why was I wrong?
The team reportedly ran into a few roadblocks in their plan, which I can assume refers to bugs and the like.
So when can you expect it?
Well, based on the schedule (it’s been revealed out there, somewhere, if you look for a few hours across the World Wild Web), they’re pretty much going to HAVE to release it this game week (scheduled game open time), or else I’m sure thousands of eager betas-in-hopeful-waiting will completely blow their tops. (Not all of them. ;D)
Seriously, do you realize that it was projected to be released just about three days ago?
Just don’t forget – NONE of this is the fault of the LEGO Universe team – you can thank the bugs and glitches for this long wait.
Does this mean the game will be perfect when the lucky few get their hands on the gold mine?
Nope, it won’t ever be perfect, I imagine. (Hey, someone always leaves a stray mistake in coding.)
But if they would have released it Thursday, I can guarantee without a doubt that there would have been several (possibly nasty) bugs within it.
Just keep your wits about you, and stay patient!
Patience is key!
All for now…
Ps. Without a doubt, THE BETA IS NOT COMING OUT ANY TIME AROUND THE END OF MARCH. Gosh, if they made it that long of a wait, we’d ALL blow our tops to Kingdom Come! XD
